Fuse Audio Labs - RS-W2395C

This month, our free plug-in comes from Fuse Audio Labs. They have teamed up with 'analogue mastermind' Roger Schult to bring you the RS-W2395C, a classic Baxandall EQ modelled on a 1950s design.

Fuse are particularly proud of the 'powerful and beautiful sounding' mid-band of this EQ and position it as an EQ that is extremely useful in adding character to mixes.

The high shelf can be used for carving out percussive sounds as well as opening or darkening instruments and voices, while the low band can tightly control sub frequencies. Fuse boast that the mid-band manages the 'balancing act between natural and beefy with stunning ease'.

This is a simple EQ to use. The low band only has two settings; 80Hz and 110Hz. The high shelf is switchable between 2kHz and 5kHz. The mid-band offers more versatility, ranging from 155 to 3500Hz, with three options of Q factor. There is also a nice drive control that can be used to add a fair amount of grit to your audio should you require it.

All in all, this should be a nice addition to most producer's tool kits, whether it's used as a solitary or a complimenting EQ.

The plug-in is available in AAX, VST, VST3 and AU versions. Both 32 and 64 bit are supported for Windows, whereas the Mac plug-in is only available in 64 bit. You can download the RS-W2395C from the Fuse Audio Labs website for free.
