Mercuriall - Guitar FX

We've got more than just one free plug-in for you this month – we'd like to introduce you to a range of eight plug-ins that are available for free download from those kind folks over at Mercuriall. The plug-ins are wide ranging, but they all have one thing in common – they are designed for use with guitars.

First up, we have two stomp box sims. The 'Greed Smasher' models the MESA/Boogie 'Grid Slammer', while the 'TSC' models the famous Ibanez TS-808. Both are faithful reproductions of the originals and feature level, tone and gain knobs, as well as an on/off switch.

Next up, we have four different valve pre-amp modellers. There are two emulations of the Marshall JCM800 preamp section, one of which has more gain than the other. There is also an emulation of the Harlequin MK1 from Cornford Amps, and a simpler pre-amp modeller called Tomato Preamp.

Finally, we have two cabinet modelling emulations; one is a model of a Hiwatt 4x12 speaker cab, while the other is a Marshall AVT50 1x12 cab.

That's a lot of new stuff to get stuck into, if mixing guitars is your thing! All the plug-ins are available as 32 and 64 bit VST plug-ins for Windows, and as VST and AU plug-ins for Mac. In addition, the two stomp box emulations are available as AAX plug-ins for both Windows and Mac.

You can download all of the plug-ins detailed above from Mercuriall's website.
