Music Spot: No Parking - Aaron Boles

NP Main

“No Parking” turns an endless search for a spot into a personal journey, caught “Dodging murals and divided lines,” then jolted by a surprise 2:20 halftime breakdown and shifting rhythms throughout. No Parking by Aaron Boles is this month’s Music Spot!

What’s the real meaning of this track beneath the surface?

“No Parking” uses the image of driving around endlessly looking for a place to park as a metaphor for a personal journey. It reflects the feeling of searching for your place in the world where you can find solitude with who you are. The title “No Parking” represents that constant motion and the frustration of not quite finding where you stand.

What line (or moment) is the emotional core of the track?

The emotional part of the track is the line 'Dodging murals and divided lines' which is about not feeling represented and being caught between different sides whether that's where you're from or parts of yourself you identify as.

What’s the must-listen moment in the track?

At 2.20, the half time breakdown comes really unexpectedly, the weird guitar effects, dueling guitar parts, synths and spaced out vocals teleport you to a completely different place immediately.

If you had to tell listeners to focus on one thing while listening what should it be?

I would tell them to focus on all the rhythmic changes and interplay between all the instruments, the speed and timing changes of the instrumentals change the whole pulse of the song quite often throughout

Name one hidden detail you’re proud of that most listeners might miss.

2:22 the start of the post chorus section, theres a bass synth that we put an effect on and it sounds really cool. Anytime it comes on we all love it.

If the track’s world was one image/scene, what is it?

I sometimes image its a group of friends in a convertible car talking about their problems and then finding a cathartic release from the wind in the hair on the drive home.

The track features the following: Aaron on Mixing, Mastering, and Guitar. Anisa for the Bass and Harmonies, Josh on the Drums and Synth, and Yaz on the Vocals. You can listen to No Parking by Aaron Boles  on the SoundGym Charts, and you can also listen to their music on Spotify.
