Soundemote - FlowerChild Filter

FlowerChild Filter is the latest plug-in from Soundemote; the first in a series of boutique analogue-style filters that they promise to deliver over time. If they are all free, and all this much fun, then they really are spoiling us.

There are numerous controls here, and this is a plug-in that can deliver a wide range of sounds, but it is also one that can be used to quickly produce interesting and distinctive results.

There are Clean and Aggressive filter settings available and Soundemote advise that you can arrive at a warm tube-like distortion by using the Clean setting and setting the Resonance control very low. There is also a 'Chaos' control in the filter section of the plug-in that can be used to add a little internal instability – something we always like to see.

You will find all of the controls you would expect to see on such a plug-in; as well as the Resonance control we also have a Filter Cutoff and a Dry/Wet control. FlowerChild also has a frequency and amplitude envelope follower, which you can use to open and close the filter .

This is a free filter that really does deliver a nice variety of interesting sounds. Take a look at the video below for a walk-through of some presets.

FlowerChild Filter is available in VST or AU versions. Both Mac and PC are supported in 32 and 64 bit. You can download the plug-in for free at the Soundemote website.
