I do not understand how to hear compression. Played the same game 10 times and my score didn't even improve. Does anyone have a link to a video explanation or just some sort of descriptor of what I am supposed to be listening for?
And don't underestimate how much the speakers or headphones you're using can make a difference in your ability to hear stuff. I could not hear compression at all until I started using good headphones (unless the settings were absolutely insane), and I always thought it a problem with my skills. But think of it this way: if you can't see color, maybe you're colorblind... but maybe you're looking at a black and white TV. Your equipment really can make or break your ability to hear stuff sometimes. What cans or speakers are you using? Try listening to sounds with extreme settings (remember to roughly volume match) and you might start hearing the difference. As you get better, you'll notice more and more subtlety.
If I don't move the cursor before clicking on the first one, it registers as incorrect even if it was right. Clicks always register on my trackpad though
Anyone else feel like distorted reality is almost impossible with some soundpacks but super easy with others? Does that have to do with the volume differences between the packs? Or are some iterations of the same level just a lot more challenging?
