Hi, I am working on a track which I like to release. The track is mixed during the creation process. Not yet mastered. Now I like to leave it for a while and mix it again with fresh ears. It's a dj extended mix and I like to create a radio mix as well before releasing op Spotify.

Any feedback or tips are welcome. The thing I am struggling with is to create more energy in the second drop around 2.12 and 2.37

Just listening now man, Those vocals are fire! are they a sample or recording the keys bass kick perc element all sit really nice tour and the drop is quality! Great energy Love the snare builds i'm listening on my DJ Headphones, only thing that stands out is the Keys, are they on key all the way through? they could be a slight clash in the drop not completley sure myself on the headphones, but love your bass synth and kick and sonic elements throughout.

The Mix is solid everything site in its place well and for me doesn't get muddy but i'd need to hear it on a big system to judge it from a djing perspective.

Thanks Tobias, I will give it a try, I am also looking for a energy boost instead of a stop ✌🏼

Ben, I made the track first and then searched for a vocal on splice. Since I was getting stuck in creating texts and wanted to proceed. Once I heard the vocal I also thought it fits really nice in the track. I doubled the vocal and distorted one and mixed it with the normal one.
In the second part I automated the vocal to give it some stops between the words to create some difference and drive. Keys are on key all time as I defined or I must be wrong 😊.
Thanks for your feedback and time to listen 🙏🏻🔥

hey Leon. slightly cheesy but practical way to add energy is to add top end stuff such as rides or open hats. Surprisingly they could be relatively low in the mix, but magically push things further. Also actually any percussion in the upper mids playing it's own little rhythms add quite some of movements and energy.

as a side note, and that's probably just my hyper sensitivity to this freq range but on the first drop the little snare roll feels a bit too harsh somewhere around 3khz

good luck!

I don't know.. I kind of hear two tracks. The lead and the vocal is really up front, while the rest is so far back it feels like one of these parallax scrolling shooters from the 90's. I feel like the elements need to mesh more.

Hi Leon! I'm a relatively inexperienced producer so you might want to take my feedback with a grain of salt.
But with that being said the snare you use for the last fill, the hits blend into one another which sounds a bit mushy. Maybe turn down the snares sustain a bit or find a more distinct sound could add some energy.

You could also add some toms or some other low end sound to the last fill to add some power to it.

Also have you tried adding a progressive volume decrease (around -2dB) to your buildup?
Then instantly restore it at the drop to make it stand out more.

Anyways it's a great track and I enjoyed it a lot.

Thats tough because I like the bouncing (stereo) fill right before 2:37 but it might take away from the drop. What if the fill volume ramps in. Also, what if you cut the swelling synth chord out completely, the chord is nice ear candy but takes away from the contrast (maybe just the drum fill).

Sorry for my late respons :-) thanks for all your inputs. I already took some of those into account in the final version. ✌🏼
