Hi everybody,

Here's my Thai rock mix.
As a classical musician, this is of course my specialty...
The fun thing in this group is to mix completely out of the comfort zone, that's what i did, so shoot me :-) coments are of course welcome!

Hava a great sunday, i am going to play some 'Elgar' Enigma variarions to go back to the classical vibe :-)

Hi Cleo,
hope you enjoyed the Enigma variations ;).
I like your guitars, the solo at the end sounds great and it goes very well into the mix. The vocals is good, too. Not too sharp. How did you do that ;)? In my opinion, drums could be a little bit more punchy, but this is maybe a matter of taste. When all instruments and vocals come together in the last chorus it sounds a little bit crowdy (less clear). But really good one, liked it :).

I like the fact that there is air in your mix, but the problem is that the guitars are contesting the primacy with the voice. If you reduce the guitars in those moments when the vocalist sings , then in my opinion it moans much better ! Good job!

Thanks for your comments! It’s not so difficult to duck the guitars when the lc sings, i will try that.
For this genre i kind of like it id the voice has to ‘compete’ with the guitars, it makes it feel ‘laut’ even on lower volumes.

I don't dispute the fact that you like it)! There is just one indisputable fact - if this song is not music, then the most important sound is the voice. And if the words in this song have a semantic load, then the listener will be uncomfortable with the fact that he is trying to listen to understand the meaning of the song. This is the key problem. It's not even that I personally like this volume level or don't like it)
In any case, this is just an opinion from the outside!)

Hoi Cleo, nice mix! Overall nice balance. The drums could have a bit more impact to compete with all that is going on.

Hey Cleo, good mix! I agree with the others on the drums, the hats seem a bit sharp and loud and when all the instruments play together the mix tend to sound a bit confusing

Cleo, good mix. I would suggest removing some harsh freqs from one or more of the guitars. And remember just because they gave us 4 guitars doesn't mean we have to use them all. I'm hearing one of the DI guitars that prob doesn't need to be there. When it does show it self in the mix it does kind of stick out. Keep mixing. Good job.

Hey @Cleo Simons , Nice job for being completely out of your comfort zone. This one was definitely a ruckus noisy rocknroll recording.

At 19 seconds note how the bottom end of the mix drops away. You can use the bottom of the kick to take up that space, rather than let the Bass use it.
