A challenging live recording. The vocals were definitely a challenge here. Lots of editing to clean it up as much as possible. The backing vocal was essentially useless. Pulled some tricks to build some for the chorus.

My strategy this week was to work the drums to make them poke through a wall of guitar and bass.

I re-amped the guitars for fun using the TSE 50 (Basically a 5150). A few edits with Melodyne to get a couple of bad notes that were bugging me. Bass has the SoftAmp PSA (Sansamp) on it. To get that grind.

I've been using the MetricHalo channel strip a lot lately, so more of that here. It doesn't impart any colour but the eq and compressor are really nice to carve things up.

As for the drums, the Snare and Overheads were out of phase with each other. The room mic was unusable as a drum room, so I used a Plate reverb to make one.

Same ol mix bus settings, Townhouse into the J37 tape. Pro-L2 to bring it up to -14 (ish).
