Hello all,
Been busy lately, but I thought this was a great idea and it has instant artist feedback. !!! Not to mention the track has a lot of energy.

Thank you Totonno Nevone for sharing your music, and commenting on the mixes. Probably both exciting and scary opening up your music like this. It helps everyone though.

I've been a little off lately and still trying to get a consistent feel for drum and guitar mixes. Been trying different approaches each time. Haven't settled on something I'm comfortable with, though some have been better than others. Hope this isn't too bad, let me know.

Hi Amilwhat! I like the mix and I'm happy you find interesting mixing my music. It's a song from 2004 so I'm already ok with it and it doesn't feel weird at all...I'm only happy to share, really! Back to the mix, I like how everything sounds really natural and glued, like being in the room with the band. Great job! The only thing that comes to my mind is probably I'd add a little bit more compression to my lead vocals, since I'm not that consistent as a singer, and more compression would help making it stand out in the whole mix without needing too much automation. Cheers from Italy!

Hey Amilwhat, good to see you had some spare time to join us this week! I think you're getting the hang of the guitars/drums, they sound pretty good to me. I think the biggest thing I'm hearing is the low end sounds a bit muddy and needs some cleanup. Maybe the bass is too loud or it could be you boosted way too much low end and it's lacking definition, but the kick drum isn't coming through that well either. Try to balance the bass out first and then once that is sitting better, see if you can find a little pocket for the kick drum to come through.

Thanks Totonno. I come from live sound so I like to make things sound like they are in the same room. I've had issues over compressing the life out of things like vocals, so now I don't go far enough. ;-p

Hi Ben, I usually side chain the bass to the kick which I didn't do on this. I liked the bass sound but had trouble getting the kick. I think there is a notch I need to take out of the bass and/or side chain to give it room to breathe. I did do a gentle eq on the main buss that might have also added additional problems. I realized the low issue after I posted and A/B'd with a couple of others. d'oh and cheers all.

Hey @Amilwhat ?, I think you've got every element in a good place. There's a lot of clutter in the lows that's making the mix feel messy. Maybe spend some time figuring out which element lives in each sub pocket.
