Hello mates!
This is my version of Chad Hollister Band – “Eyes”
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OCiI0nsWfikv6Qj4Ip1h_e9wNjDSl7nK/view?usp=sharing

I decided to approach this song in a different way from my usual, so I started the mixing process with the guitars and the vocals and then added the bass the drum and lastly the horn section.. I used different types of reverbs and delays to push some elements forward and others in the background, and to give a sense of unity and consistency.. ;P

Hey Magghy, that's a lovely clear vocal, and fun electric guitar sound. :)

Hi Magghy, nice mix! I agree with J N on the vocals, nice and clear. Also like the creative effect on the guitar.

for my ears, you are getting better and better as time goes by!!! really enjoyable mix, vocal is perfect tonal and volume wise!
okay so here goes my annoying side hehe, I can still hear some heavy mids, very slight but heavy mids. maybe you just need to work on that for your mixes to trascend!
what do you think that might be the reason for that?

Thank you guys! @Adrián Quiroz probably the fact that I mix on headphones and I can't really test my versions to see how their lows behave exactly 😅.. Do you have any suggestion? ;P

Mix sounds really great Magghy! Regarding mixing on headphones, do you use any monitoring software (Waves NX, Plugin Alliance DearVR etc...)? If not, you should invest in one of those as it can really help give you a better sense of depth/height/balance while mixing on headphones. If you do, I suggest listening to a lot of pro mixes through the monitoring software and take notes on what you hear. You may discover that while listening the low end sounds more defined for certain settings (for example, listening on the far monitors) or maybe it even sounds boomy bordering on muddy. The main thing is to find the common ground between how mixes sound on that software and go from there.

@MAGGHY JI I think as far as tonal balance goes, referencing, referencing, and referencing.
Like @Ben Sinclair said, write down similitudes and differences on what you hear between your mix and a professional one. And lastly, dont be shy to turn those lows and/or highs if you feel like you need to!

@Ben Sinclair, @Adrián Quiroz thanks guys! I don't use monitoring software at the moment and yep I need to use reference tracks more often ;P

All the Waves plugins are great and since it's Waves, they're on sale all the time. Shouldn't run you more than $30-$50 depending on which one you go with. But no hyperbole, once you start using them your mixes will go to the next level, so get on it sooner rather than later! 👍

You decided to take of the acoustic guitar, or I am just not hearing it? :)

@Domas Astrauskas the acoustic guitar is just behind the electric ones while I turned down the mandolin during the track bringing it up on the last section and before the electric guitars' solo ;P
