Hey just curious - who here can say their ear has significantly improved because of soundgym? :)

No doubt your hearing improves a lot in soundgym, but it is a long process of constant practice and a lot of patience.

I am much more aware during producing because of soundgym (aware of frequency areas of different sounds, resonances, compression and reverb settings, and with using saturation). And when listening to other songs on spotify for example, you are much more aware of what's happening and how the musical project would look like and all the elements of the track

Yes, especially regarding compression.

Been doing it daily for over a month now and can definitely more quickly and precisely identify frequencies - which is coming in useful in my producing and mixing. I'm self-taught and have always 'played by ear' but SG is really honing and concentrating the skillset

absolutely. if you focus for a few months every day and then keep up some regularity with it it really makes a difference

Been here for 2 weeks and can already tell a significant difference, even having done ear training in college.

I started seriously doing the daily workouts for about 2 weeks.

I've greatly improved already on EQ and compression.

I went back to some past mixes and could directly hear some nasty things I'd now wish I'd remove prior to releasing haha

I actually asked a very similar question to yours not so long ago, and decided to start reporting on my progress on a weekly progress to keep me engaged: https://www.soundgym.co/space/talk?id=NASZ2448MAR&t=YNMJXTF2WYS
