those M and N dashes thrown around like confetti show this post was written by ChatGPT .. besides release ready doesn't need a hyphen .. so, this alone tells me you guys are up to no good .. dishonest from the jump .. be yourself and write from the heart and connect with your tribe by being you .. you have failed the first and foremost test ☝️🥴
i think i will go ahead and redeem the card 🫵😌 and i'd advise my fellow musicians to not waste their time by sending their music and having it copied/stolen ⚠️☠️⚠️

WOW, unexpected things often happen. Really, I never expected this. You all gave me a really happy day and I say a thousand thanks. It's fun every day to learn from all the amazing members at Soundgym, thank you again!
Hi my friend, good song! I'm not very familiar with the genre, so I’m not sure I have the most technical perspective to advise you, but that aside, I feel like the vocal sounds a bit nasal. Try to find and control the frequencies causing that to avoid it. It’s likely due to the microphone’s frequency response during recording and the tonal character of the voice. Knowing that, in future productions, if you have other microphones available, you could try testing a few to see which one suits the voice best.
When you identify those frequencies that emphasize that nasal quality, try making subtle changes — overall, the vocal’s tonal balance is quite good and doesn’t need drastic adjustments. You could try dynamic EQ — some plugins like FabFilter Pro-Q3 allow you to do this kind of equalization.
Have you tried a slapback delay as an effect on the vocal? It sounds great and gives the voice a sense of stereo width. I use it quite often in my mixes. Look into that kind of processing and use it with care — sometimes if it’s not applied correctly, phase issues can arise and affect mono compatibility.
You could also use a return channel with some reverb on the vocal. If I were mixing it, I’d try using a reverb that helps the vocal blend into the mix. In this type of genre, it's common to work with samples, and each sample is usually recorded independently in different types of spaces — so they each carry a distinct reverb character, which can give the mix an odd feel because each element seems to be in a different environment. The same thing often happens with synthesis — sometimes a specific reverb is applied when designing a sound, and then when it’s combined with sounds from other banks, they all carry different characteristics. Do you know what I mean?
That’s what I’m picking up. I hope my comments are helpful.
The mix sounds really good overall — you’ve done a great job! Keep it up, you’re on the right track!
Note: I am a producer, I made the beat using part of a sample and I mixed the vocals for a friend, with rn over 100k montly listeners, so I try to get the perfect mix! Thx for the feedback so far!
I am a producer and I would love to get into vocal mixing and mastering, this is my beat and mixed the vocals using: eq for the lows first, compressor, de-esser, eq boosting the highs a bit and cutting a bit of annoying frequencies around 1k Hz using dynamic eq, added some warm tube and lastly routed it to a reverb channel and sidechained it. (also, sidechained the vocals to the main melody, with a multiband)
Hey SoundGym fam 👋 If you’re just starting out, or even if you've been mixing for a while, you’ve probably heard the term DAW thrown around more times than you can count.
But what actually is a DAW? And how do you know which one is right for you?
We just published a new blog post that breaks it all down: 💻 What a DAW does 🎚️ How it fits into your music production flow 🎧 Which DAWs are best for different needs
