I miss Soundgym Duels, it was my favorite section :( It was so attractive to make match with others Soundgymers. Do you think @Soundgym will reinstate it one day ?

I wish Duels came back too, Cindy. Those 1-on-1 matches were great for gaining speed and confidence in one's decision-making process, and an awful lot of fun!

Sharing our new song, co-written and co-produced with the singer Jenny Rudell. Drums are MIDI. I play acoustic and electric guitars, lapsteel, mandolin, electric bass and trumpet. I have mixed and mastered but Jennys ears have contributed as well :)

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody has a pointer for the compressionist game. I seem to be able to determine the attack fairly well but the failure is strong with this one when it comes to the ratio 😅. Any clue where I should put my attention? The transients?

I find listening for the relative loudness between different instruments helps - i.e. volume of hihat vs snare. Higher ratios lead to less difference in relative loudness as the sounds get squished together. Another I listen for is the attack as high ratios cause a stronger 'dip' or 'punch' on the attack which is more audible on lower end like the kick. The differences are really subtle however, so I find flipping back and forth between the audios helps with determining those finer adjustments.

The other guys gave you great tips already, I could only reinstate what Ray Z said for example. But I just wanted to share I used to feel stuck similarly, where I was pretty OK with attack but I could not hear ratios. Just keep practicing it, spend time comparing the versions even after you get them wrong, etc, you'll get through it eventually. Don't stress on it, give it time and practice consistently

That's right! first concentrate as hard as you can until you get to 101, then improve several techniques to optimize Kills. Yes practice is the key =) Congratulations for your 101 Stelios!! 😃

Great job guys! You are all awesome, I feel like 90s start to be really really difficult but once you hit 100 you should be a superhero, practice is all we have!

@Mike Benza Thanks Mike. 98 points is already so great! I couldn't reach them when I first started out. Happy time!
