I try to focus on getting one element at a time through a couple of loop iterations then move on to the next. For example, focus on getting the snare right, then the kicks after you've got the snare (hopefully only a couple of loops worth of listening), then the clap, etc.
Maybe spend some Soundcoins on a second drum machine if you haven't already. I've noticed that changing drum machines can give you a different drum pattern to solve. Almost feels like cheating... except you still have to solve it.
Also, it helps to stay as calm as possible when dealing with a really complex loop. That took me a long time to be able to do, but I guess that's why they call it training.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful response! I tend to do one element at a time too which has helped me up until this level. The second drum machine is a great idea! I might be able to differentiate some sounds better with different drum machines too. I will try that! And staying calm is clutch, good point about training helping with that :)
