Since I am using SoundGym for the first time I have questions and observations that might be annoying for people who have gotten familiar with it. Forgive me if there are ways of doing things I'm not aware of yet.
I am running through the daily exercise routine and at the end of each section, I would really like to know specifics of where I failed to achieve success. I would like to be able to review the questions I just did, especially any I scored poorly on. Is this possible?
It would also be helpful to be able to redo a question instantly, if the first answer was way off. I think that would help tune the ear -- to hear the example again and, for instance, note what a 150Hz actually boost sounds like compared to what I thought it might be.
Also, for EQ Knight, Dr. Compressor, DB King, Filter Expert, Delay Control, Distorted Reality & Reverb Wizard, you can press the “C” key immediately after selecting your answers (right or wrong) so you can hear and compare the difference between them. Very helpful indeed.
You have about 2 seconds to press (not hold) the C key after answering (if its already advanced to next question, you missed it). You can also use the arrow keys to select between the samples, press C again to continue with game.
Also, most gym games have a practice mode (paid accounts only)
Hi folks, I find the tools on this site interesting and I hope to use them with a class of 30+ university students this upcoming year.
Can I ask about the success reporting for the training games -- if I see I am in percentile 6.29%, doesn't that mean that I am doing well on the exercises? The text below the popup window follows up the percentile with the comment You are better than 6.29% of users. Shouldn't that be better than 93.71% of users? Or am I somehow fooling myself as to my success rate? I'm only getting a few tests absolutely wrong.
If you are in the 6.29% then you are doing better than 6.29% of the people. If you are just starting out, don't let that worry you. In a couple of months, you will see these percentages increase dramatically as you level up in each game.
Just one more question for now -- exporting results?
Thanks for yer patience -- if I am using this with students I would want them to be able to submit to me the results of their self-testing. Can the data be exported?
