I wouldn't notice it's an AI music, but the sound work is terrible. Unlike the music theory, which is basically an exact science defined by rules, the sound engineering is very abstract and still be a challenge for machines to do it right. Especially now in the overcrowded music production environment where the good sound is necessary to stand out. And even after that, it'll never kill those, who don't make it for money but for the fun :)
@Cindy B You are correct. The only music that will be made by real musicians will be those who make music as a hobby, or those who make really weird and original music. Making commercial music for a living won't be a thing anymore, but we can definitely still enjoy it as a hobby! Or maybe more people will get bored of hearing the same commercial music that they've heard for 20 years and instead start seeking out weird and original stuff? That would be my dream, but I fear that it is just a dream. Still, at least there will always be places like Soundgym where hobbyists can hang out and learn and share and have fun.
Seriously, is there anything on that platform that you enjoy listening to? For more than a few seconds? Even the best examples are generic gunk. And honestly, I don't care how generic gunk is produced. Now it's mostly done by humans, and in the future it will be done by machines. So what? I neither want to make this kind of stuff nor listen to it. On the other hand: I'm pretty sure some truly creative people will start using these tools in a creative way. I'm totally looking forward to that.
