Balance Mastering - Teufelsberg Reverb | Free VST Plugin

Teufelsberg Reverb Free VST Plugin

If you’ve ever felt that you need the sound of cold-war era surveillance in your mix, Balance Mastering has just the plugin for you! The Teufelsberg reverb is the first plugin to be released from their ‘Balance Audio Tools’ range, and it sounds spectacular.

The plugin features six different impulse response reverb types – the sounds for which were captured at the infamous Teufelsberg surveillance tower in Berlin. The reverbs are deep and rich sounding, and the plug-in offers zero-latency convolution, A/B compare and preset save functions. They have put together a demo of the different reverb sounds, which you can listen to it here.

These impulse responses were recorded in a very distinctive sounding building – and also one with a lot of history. ‘Teufelsberg’ (German for Devil’s Mountain) is a man-made hill in Berlin that was built in the twenty years following the Second World War by moving approximately 75,000,000 cubic metres of rubble from around the city.  The surveillance tower was built by the US National Security Agency on top of the hill, where it was used for intelligence gathering from 1963 until the fall of the Berlin Wall, twenty-six years later.

The plug-in is available in 32 and 64-bit versions for Windows, AU, and VST versions for Mac, and there is a Linux version too. you can download it from the Balance Mastering site.
