Hadron Sounds - Let Me Live My Life (feat. Soraya Grosso)

Each month we shine the spotlight on one SoundGym member by reviewing one of their tracks for our Music Spot feature. This month we focus on 'Let Me Live My Life' by Hadron Sounds, featuring Soraya Grosso.

Hadron Sounds is a producer and trumpet player from Freiburg in Germany, who is now based near London. 'Let Me Live My Life' is a real fusion track; blending live musicians with electronic production. The track features vocals, live drums and guitar alongside a large brass section in which Hadron Sounds himself plays trumpet. It is refreshing to hear electronic music that is so brimming with musicality. The brass hook is compelling and Grosso's soulful vocal commands attention. The track is mostly built around a low-slung soul groove, but following the chorus this segues into a hard hitting drop that is unexpected while not feeling out of place.

The production is crisp and clear – no mean feat considering the number of elements at play here. Hadron Sounds has been producing from the tender age of fourteen and it shows. The sound recalls the crossover soul/dance acts of the '90s, but the drops are resolutely modern. If you want to hear more from Hadron Sounds, you can check him out on Soundcloud, Facebook and Instagram – or you can head directly over to his website. 'Let Me Live My Life' is out now on Soundcloud and Spotify.
