What’s the real meaning of this track beneath the surface?

Our life is like a book, and we’re always trying to find the “topic” of our story. This song is about finding that topic, our purpose to live, and how my younger sister and I struggled to find ours until we found it together through making music. I, Hamsini, was 16 when I wrote this song, which is why the first verse talks about “16 years ago, there was an intro, the intro being my birth. Now I’m 17, and the same idea applies to the second verse with my 13-year-old sister, Smahi. 

What line (or moment) is the emotional core of the track?

We think the line at 1:48, “Maybe every page we turned, was leading somewhere strong.” This shows how even the most random things in our lives can eventually lead to something meaningful and clear. 

What was the first spark?

One day, I grabbed my guitar and started playing some chords. I asked my sister, “What should be the ‘TOPIC’ of the song?” and she casually replied, “TOPIC.” I laughed, but then we thought, “Wait… maybe it could actually be something.” We started cooking something up, and in less than 15 minutes, we had the whole song written.

If the track’s world was one image/scene, what is it?

It would be two sisters playing guitar and singing together happily while facing the sunset, just like the artwork of the song. 

Which production element carries the feeling the most?

We think the vocals carry the emotion and feeling of the song the most. They really make the song what it is.

What’s the perfect listening moment for this track? 

We feel that the best time to listen to this track is during a long drive in your car, when you just want to feel good and happy.
