Hey all! My second full album, Through the Noise, came out Friday on all the streaming platforms and on-line music stores. Here are links to it on some of the more popular sites:
Anybody know of a FAQ for the games in the audio workout? I know I at least have questions that others have probably figured out. For instance: - What do you listen for to tell the difference between 2:1 and 8:1 compression? - Is it humanly possible to hear delay that's less than around 80 ms? When I play that game and it's giving me a choice between a delay of, say, 40 ms and 20 ms, I can't tell the difference at all.
@Michael Hayashida, the only thing I would add to the above about the ratio, is that with 8:1 there's a lot more room sound. The key with delay is that quantity (ms) affects quality (how you perceive the sound). You can kind of hear delay above 30/40 ms. Below 30 ms, you forget about delay per se, and focus on other delay-related effects. Roughly, between 1-15 ms, you hear for a phaser/flanger effect, and between 15-30 ms for a thickening of the sound. Of course, it can get more nuanced than this.
