I just started SoundGym back in Novemebre, and all I have is my laptop (DELL Latitude E5540) and some headphones, no other speakers. Besides decent headphones (I have the Sony Stereo Headphones MDR-7506) is there anything you all can recommend to get better sound quality so I can hear certain frequencies, distortion, any better?
Anyone have any experience with SoundID Reference from Sonarworks?
Thank you all!

I have soundID in my Adam Audio speakers, but I also have treatment in my room, so it really isn't an aggressive correction but I think it makes it flatter. I usually do SoundGym on my Beyerdynamic 770 Pros though

99% of the time, I just use a pair of AIAIAI headphones plugged right into my laptop. I reckon what you have should be enough to make good progress.

I would suggest trying out DSoniq Realphones 2. I use it with my ATH M20X and works good. I suppose they have a 30 or 45 days trial period to try it out

I'm not able to get through level 1 of dr.compressor. Some sample are pretty easy to determine that it was compressed but for other it sound to me impossible.

Does it get better by doing it everyday, because i'm scared to loose my time if I can't pinpoint where to hear compression in a sample.

Thanks in advance !

Great video. I recommend for everyone training to hear compression.

It definitely gets better doing it every day. A couple of things to listen for: does it sound slightly farther away? and/or is th crack of the snare less cracky then it is likely more compressed. Is there a lot more tail going on - also likely more compressed.

I was doing my daily exercises and Googled a song I liked, but while the result was similar, I don't think I found the exact song that's on this platform. This is the song Google found: https://tidal.com/album/166739490/u

Anyone got tips on fixing my compression deafness? I think I just need to practice more, but I can't tell the difference between 4:1, 2:1, and 8:1.

SoundGym Score Tracking UI Improvements
Hey, hello everyone, is this the right place to suggest SoundGym UI improvements? If so, could I recommend adding the top 3 high-scores to the game information screen, below 'Your current level'? Selecting each game and seeing the scores would be very easy to track which games require some improvements.

That too! I've lost count how many time's I've forgotten to change it and ended up with a training sound that I don't want to use. I really like the variety of sounds, but sometimes I do like to just use one sound over and over. If I do bad on a game, I just hit F5 to refresh, as it allows you to start again without having to re-select the sound.
