Paul Arcane - Imagine

Each month we shine the spotlight on one SoundGym member by reviewing one of their tracks for our Music Spot feature. This month we look at 'Imagine', a collaboration between SoundGym member Paul Arcane and Liftwalkers.

Arcane is a Chilean producer who only started his career as an artist in 2015, but his rise has been impressively swift. He has made a name for himself by crafting energetic, melodic and euphoric productions, and has already got twenty releases under his belt. This work brought him to the attention of electronic music heavy-weights, Above & Beyond, who invited him to do a 30-minute guest-mix on their Group Therapy radio show.

'Imagine' sees him teaming up with fellow Chileans, Liftwalkers on a melodic dancefloor banger. The track is technically impressive, packing a low-end gut-punch while retaining a crystal-clear top end. The drop hits the euphoric peaks that Arcane is so well known for, but there is nuance and emotion here too. Whispered and snatched vocals flit across the speakers, creating intricate textures, while the piano breakdown is achingly pretty. If he can continue putting out tunes of this quality, you can only see Paul Arcane's profile rising further and further.
