hey, i just recently purchased full version of sound gym, wanted to ask how much of you play with monitors and how much with headphones
profile
Lilke @Aike East mentioned, try to use all of your gear. The whole idea is to learn to identify how your space sounds.

That said, I highly recommend that both, your monitors and your headphones are as flat sounding as possible (either with room treatment, good brands, calibration software, etc). In my case, my room is not treated but i have SoundID for speaker calibration and I also bought my headphones from them.

This is a greaaaaaat and fuuuuun place... welcome aboard !!!! You are about to be transformed !

Forgot to menion... SPI points wont make you magically better. Forcing your ear and consciously trying to learn will. Repeat the things where you struggle and as you play, remember that you are not just trying to pass a level, you are learning. In the end, learning, not earning a badge, is the final goal.

Cheers mate !

I kinda go back and forth. my monitor setup is getting better (I've got ARC, and finally got around to putting up some critical sounds absorption, etc.) so I actually enjoy using the monitors now. I'd say I'm still 70/30 (headphones/monitors)

Hey Rachel, here are my notes.
I think the kick & snare are overpowering the vocals. There's too much crack (high end) for the snare, try EQ it or audition with other snare samples. The sub bass is too much which I don't think it compliments the vocals. I would try to find some other bass sounds that can fill up the frequencies between 100 - 200hz.
The vocals are missing some really important information at mids to high mids which are for clarity and also ultra highs for a bit of shimmery/expensive sound. Adding reverb on the vocals I think can serve the spacey/laid back/reverby vibe of the song pretty well too. The BGVs could benefit to sit forward in the mix as it is quite burried.
The arpeggio sound is very low in volume, I think it can come up more as I can barely hear it.
These are the main issues I'm hearing. Take only what you need and also let's see what others think about it.
Hope this helps and would love to hear the full song once it's done.

@Beto Ojeda I consider 30 times to be 'a few times' for this game. I can spend 500 coins without managing one single flawless round, let alone approach 70 points. 😂

@Stelios Mavroyiannis

I get your point, but there’s something more important here: I’ve been on the platform for six years, and I’ve spent six years practicing and spending tons of coins on the Olympics! This didn’t happen overnight... It’s not just a matter of talent; it’s constant practice over a long period of time. 🙌

@Beto Ojeda I kind of forgot that! haha
I'm only here for a year. Who knows where I will be in another 5 years!
