Who here has flipped an EQ to linear phase on a kick because it felt like the “safe” option?

Turns out that symmetric filter puts half its ringing before the hit, right where your ears can’t hide it. Narrow cut, low frequency, drum transient? That’s the worst combo, and it’s also the most common EQ move out there.
