Nice tune, bro!
On first listen, the drums seem like they have too much mid-range punch though, almost like they are meant to be old school hip-hop drums.
I would consider either of these fixes:
- try changing the drums to something more suited to modern indie pop (I assume that's the sound you are going for) which will be less in-your-face and more have more bass than mids.
- if you really like your current drums and don't want to change them (fair enough!), I suggest making a few EQ cuts in the mid-range to make them sit down a little bit.

@Dylan Neal Yeah I wanted to keep the drums but defintley felt like they took up some space in the mix not sure what it was though, thank you!

Hi George :) Yes, I agree with Dylan! You could try doing something with the drums. The guitars are a little dull, perhaps they lack reverb and a little more treatment and I find them to be too far back. The idea is very interesting, with some adjustments, I'm sure the track could benefit from it!

in my personal experience working very long on the same track usually doesn't do it much good. My guess is you made verse mainly in one session and tried to create a chorus for the track in another session? When i make tracks this usually doesnt tend to work too well. My advice would be writing down a few things you would want to see improved in a new track and make a new track in one session, this personally helped me advance my productions a lot. hope that helps a bit, thanks for sharing your track!

Aike, you'll find people's ears tend to adapt very fast. So if you are listening to something with an EQ curve for a long time, it starts to sound normal after a while as your brain corrects for it internally! It's something to be mindful of, and often the reason why when you come back to a track the next day, you might not like the sound of what you did the day before. It's generally referred to as ear fatigue.

IMHO, it's important to work on as fresh of ears as possible, take many breaks, listen to other things inbetween to reset you ears regularly, and always, always, doublt check a mix another day on fresh ears. If you don't like what you hear, or want to change something or take it in a diferant direction than you had been because it doesn't sound right anymore, it's most likely because you had ear fatigue the day before if working on audio many hours straight.
