Ciao everyone! I just uploaded a new track. It is finished and published of course, but I would like to hear what you find to be working well and what you maybe think could have been better (both in a compositional and mixing way). Any constructive critic will be greatly welcomed as always.
P.S. I'm posting the YouTube version for two reasons: I'm concentrating my efforts on that channel much than on Sound Cloud and, above all, I would love to show you the work that my friend did with the animated illustration. I think she deserves credits for her art.
Thank you in advance for you time and attention to the track 🌷
Ciao Giacomo, composizione molto molto bella che mi ricorda Ori, Lost in the Storm di Ori and the blind forest.
@Mikael Nyblom Thank you for your opinion! I am sincerely glad to hear you find it beautiful and I am starting to understand that the feedback on this focuses on those backing sounds. They are important and fit well, so I could have used a little more cure, I agree ahaha
Ciao Giacomo, I second Mikael and Erlin. I think the water FX are a beautiful tough, but they could be a bit softer and rather than turn up the Highs I would actually filter out the lows on that (maybe around 300-400khz. Also the hits were a creative touch but the way they were executed I didn't think really work with the composition. For one because the sample doesn't come in strong right away I feel like the main part of the HIT comes in late. I would move the sample back a few milliseconds. I could hear the hits more with a Low pass filter, and maybe more reverb and less repetitive, more just to mark certain points in the gorgeous composition and beautifully performed piece. Either way beautiful work.
@Andrei Matorin Ciao! Thank you for this exhaustive and constructive critic, which I find quite a confirmation of what I was thinking. It was the first time experimenting with those hits, and I feel like I could have handled it better now. Not that it was that easy to do, but you're right...it's especially about adding more softness to certain things, working on frequencies. I got it now. All in all you are all being precious in this thread, couldn't be more grateful. Also, your compliments on the final part are deeply appreciated!
