Hello everyone! How are yall doing fam!? I am starting to get better and better, and you guys are a huge support! Thank you all for replying to my tracks. My newest release The Storm, is about a world were due to clim ate change. The earth changes to a almost always stormy climate, becoming less and less inhabitable. I used ambient rain and thunder in the track to give it ambience. It's a melodic techno track.
Hi Leon :) Good job! The track sounds good, I'm listening... for now the only advice would be to push the volume a little more. Here it reaches -14lufs the YouTube reduction seems to me to be 4 db. So you're roughly at -10 LUFS, which might be acceptable. Today they even go beyond -8 lufs, but if you haven't worked to obtain that level, you risk ruining everything by pushing on the limiter. Maybe you could give more impact to the drums, perhaps with parallel compression. But without using them too much, the balance you found seems to work well. Perhaps it lacks a bit of dynamics, but not too much. You have to do some tests. If you want, you could add some new tools or simple short interventions here and there to further pique the listener's interest. sorry for my bad English. I write with a translator :(
@Vittorio Di Rocco Hey there, Thank you for your feedback. Yeah I am working on bettering my master/mixing alot. I too figured that I can't seem to get it loud and also clear. I am starting to get a little better, one step at a time. Yeah I think parralel compression is a skill that I haven't used very much, but I for sure need to look into that. Yeah maybe some small variations can be a nice additive on such a minimal track, although it is hard to figere out what is needed at times. Your Enlish seems to be fine :)
Hi Leon! Cool track!! I like the balance!! but the only thing that is distracting to me is the delay that the main synth has, maybe is out of time sometimes. To get more louder masterings without compromise the quality, maybe you can check this Panorama videos, I think they are really good.
If you do some experiments for parallel compression; kick and bass separated from the rest of the drums. (you can also try working with a single parallel [not really recommended, but it can be done] in this case, pay attention to the kick because it risks going out of control, in this case I cut with EQ and eliminate the kick from the processing) All you can put other instruments in the same parallel bus. Afterwards, however, pay attention to the balance of volumes; try to bring everything back to the original level. Good fun! I'm sure you will get great satisfaction, don't give up!
All you can put other instruments in the same parallel bus Here I think the translator made a mess. I meant that: all the other sounds can go to another parallel bus, and be processed in this single bus.
@Eli C Thank you, I will make sure to check that out!
1 props
