SWC theme (20th): Bottom Lining?
Let's try the opposite approach to Top Lining and call it "Bottom Lining", or "Lyrics First" approach.....Write a melody and harmony to premade lyrics. You can adjust the lyrics to fit your music as well.

Here are some lyrics for a SoundGym collaborative project that never really took off:

Verse 1
Cut a path through the ignorance
Be the first one to ask for a dance
In the daylight smile, hang out for a while
A porch light in the dark can be seen for miles
...
Verse 2
When nothing works, or goes as planned
Be the first one to lend a hand
The whole body flinches when you stub a toe
Living doesn’t have to mean surviving alone
...
Chorus
Love your neighbor
Love your neighbor
Start now, don’t wait for later
Love your neighbor
...
Love your neighbor
Love your neighbor
Be a game changer not a spectator
Love your neighbor
...
Verse 3
Cycles of abuse are chains unbroken
Injustice is a killer when left unspoken
The pain staggers in tearing us apart
Share a cup of kindness to heal the scars

Bridge
We all share a sky with an open view
Come rain or shine, I’ll be there for you

See if you can come up with a melody and harmony.

Have fun and be creative! :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guidelines:
-> A given topic/theme is given weekly.
-> Participants can write either only lyrics, or add melody, or even add a backing track with guitar, piano, a pad or drums. Full songs are accepted as long as they have lyrics and conform to the theme (no instrumentals, unless you want a production review lol).
> Songs/lyrics must be submitted by WEDNESDAY the latest, each week.
-> A winner is selected on THURSDAY at 18:00 GMT based on the number of props.
-> The winner will either choose to come up with a theme or appoint someone to come up with the next theme for the next week. The weirder the theme the better.
-> Post your lyrics in the SoundCloud "description" field if applicable.
-> Post your song in this space as a separate post with the same subject line as above.
-> To enter multiple entries is totally cool and even encouraged! :D
-> If you want please give feedback of what you like and what could improve on other submissions.
-> Have fun!
-----also, I made the lyrics and give permission to use the lyrics for the purpose of this week's challenge.
Cool idea, although just to be clear there's such term as bottom-lining but it refers to the backing track only.
Remember topline = lyrics + melody
