Hello everyone!
Here’s my version of Sonnet & Alcohol > “Back To The Nineties”
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PXOLr2Ws-PzMjBIYNleJ9lzWNb08DzlW/view?usp=sharing

It was a challenging song to mix, especially for the mic’s spills, the drums and the floatin’ vocals.. I tried to give consistency and coherence to all the elements and I spent most of the time adding a lot of tiny processings to the vocals and the drums in order to not alter the original idea and sound of the band.. Then as always, I used reverbs, delays and other fx to create movement and enhance the 3d feeling.. ;P

Hi Magghy, nice clean mix. Totally different from my apoach. The LV feels a little detached in my opinion and the drums feel a little 'small' in the stereofield compared to the wide guitars. It feels like a different band than in my mix, but that's the fun of mixing! Cheers!

HI Magghy.. Good mix. It was a difficult mix this week with so much ' not right' with the recording being live .. Drums could have been up front and. Nice guitars

Hi Magghy, lots of energy in your mix. The vocals are hard to connect (suit) with the instruments here. It is good in your version, but I am wondering if this goes better, maybe? Anyway liked it :)

In my opinion, everything is fine, only the voice sticks out over the mix, if you lower it a little, it will be fine

Hi Magghy, good mix! The vocal is nice and transparent which is a real achievement ;)
For me the drums feel a bit to too far to the back (in relation to the LV?) but that is probably a matter of taste.

Thanks guys! It was a tough mix, definitely! Yes, the vocals need to be turned down to fit better into the mix 😌

Hello Magghy. From my vantage point the drums seem a bit muffled/dark overall. Also your mix is leaning a bit to the left from the guitars. Not hearing a lot in the right side on monitors. This was one that challenged even the best I see. :)

Hey @MAGGHY JI , These live off the floor recordings are a real challenge. I like how the guitars panned LR. Although the left one does pull the mix that way. I automated the levels of the guitars a lot to get around that.

There's something going on with the Bass. There are some extra lows going on with it, it's making my subs shake the room. Kinda makes the mix feel like it's droning.

Is there an effect on the main vocal at 49 seconds? It's off to the left, sounds like a really fast Leslie. Was that the backing vox?
