Hey guys, here’s my version of “El Marinero” this is an interesting challenge for me! I did only technical mixing and a little automation, I didn't have a lot of time to work on this project. now I would fix a lot, I spent no more than 6 hours on it and am not pleased with the result. I tried monolithic and punchy low end, but it didn't work out very well, and it also didn't work out to create an interesting space for the vocal. and it looks like i did a lot of saturation for the mix I appreciate all your comments and advice. Thank you for listening.
Dzianis, Re: Mix not Master. Nice job. Overall it's a good mix. Couple things that came to mind from my perspective: It works but I think the kick is a bit hot or it has too much point making it seem louder - over powering the bass - really shows at loud vol. I'm also missing some elements that the producer felt it needed to give the rhythm more flow - subjective. There's a few other small things (not worth mentioning) but all in all it sounds good. Good job.
Thanks for you comment. it is, now I would do it differently: I would not focus on the lo end, but would leave more room for percussion. I would not compress the vocal so much, but work it out by automating it. Thanks
Hey! I want to change the balance between kick and bass towards bass. You yourself know everything about saturation, without it there would be more space in the mix)
Hey Dzianis, I liked your version! I agree with the comments above regarding the kick, and when guitars, synths and vocals play together it feels like the vox needs to be more centered, more in the spotlight (don't know if it makes sense to you), good mix!
thanks for your comment, i really appreciate it. it's hard for me to switch from mixing metal music
2 props
