Hello,

Here is this week's mix.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vCOtmCHYHJoyDE5O9pRAZiVIZMrNzQgL/view?usp=sharing

I went for more of a hard rock style. I replaced the bass, because of it being out of tune. Adding drums samples to beef up the snare and kick.

Reference track I used: Overthinking Hands Like Houses.

Thanks!

Hi Shane,

I really like the bass and drums you added. I think they made the mix more defined and put the drums right in front of your face. I also like how up front the doubles are in the second pre chorus. I think this creates a nice contrast to all the other vocals in the song and creates interest by introducing a familiar but new vocal tone!

One thing I noticed were the ahhs in the pre-chorus right before the first chorus were very up front in the mix compared to the chorus vocals which I think sucks some energy from the chorus and I feel like you want that first chorus to be more impactful. I also hear a some distortion on the guitar strums (the ones right in the beginning+in certain sections throughout) which is a bit distracting.

Nice work! I think the mix sounds full but well defined which is something I struggle with.

Good mix, Shane. I like your elecgtr1 at the intro section. Drums can be less width and more around 5Khz. You have a powerful snare hit, I really like that. Good work.

Hi shane. I’m really digging the new bass, but the drums sound a bit too round to me. Would love a snappier snare — feels like that’d fit the vibe better. Also hearing quite a bit of 400 Hz buildup there.

Hi, Shane! I like that you replaced the kick, snare and bass. They do sound more metal that the original. I didn't have a problem with the bass, though. I liked the tension it added.

Like, Santi, I feel like the snare is a little too round.

I feel like the background vocals could be panned in a little. They compete with the wide guitars. They could also stand some de-essing.

Overall, I like the edge you brought to the mix!
