Hello mates! The New MIX for this Week is a “Sambarock” song from a Brazilian friend of @João Freitas Darui.. The multitrack is just 1:30 minutes long but it’s a really cool project and I think it would be interesting to work with a live recording track and with a new genre! Hands on the faders!! 🎛️ 🔊🌈 P.S. (Thanks again to Joao and his friends for sharing this track with us!)

P.S. Everyone can choose the reference tracks he/she wants to mix the song but in order to have a same starting point to evaluate and compare our mixes, for the video, we’ll need to use the given references and rough mix so actually we do not judge each other but we compare our versions to songs that were professionally treated.
Good choice, Magghy! Listened to the original song. You can immediately hear that it was mixed by a person with experience (the balance of frequencies is good and you can focus on it), but not professionally enough, because there is no single breath of rhythm, which is always on cool records. It will be interesting to work and see if we succeed with you))
Its a pitty that its not the full song but the producer shared with me just for educational porposes hehe.
Nice references. Tim maia is kind of a god to brazilian genres in general especialy those early records. If you guys wanna know some of those old sambalike records i can make a list to you guys search for :D There lots of good stuff.
Great, John!!!! I'm brazilian too, nice to meet someone with great references like Tim Maia and the oldschool of samba (I'm sure you speaking of Jorge Ben,Simonal, partido alto carioca, etc.), usually I can not participate in the challenges of Magghy for lack of time, but I will try to honor the countryman.....😀
@ALEX INFANTI For sure thats what i meant dude. Also originais do samba, tincoãs,Noriel Vilela, cartola, baden powel, edu lobo, batatinha and go on and on and on! haha
hello samba lovers!!! i saw the movie. the film was called Mare, Nossa Historia de Amor, 2007 in this film, a song was played under the opening credits (there are a lot of songs, the film is musical), If I understand correctly, this song is called 'favela'. Again, if I understand correctly, it is performed by Vinicius D'Black (he also plays one of the main roles). i tried to find this song... but all i could find is a list of tracks from the OST... the songs themselves are nowhere to be found (except for one). Perhaps you know more about this and can help.
exactly! this is it! do we have a chance to find a version from the movie?
1 props
