Hello everyone,

In this song/mix I directed my focus on the hookline.

Hi Klaus, always fun to hear the different aproaches of one song!
For me the vocal feels a little detached from the rest of the band, specialy the drums. But that can also be because i tried to let the vocal 'compete' with the band in my version.
Great job!

Hello Cleo, thanks - you are right , the vocal is definitely too loud. I changed the file.

Ok I wouldn't say your vocals are too loud, I'd say that you don't have the drum kit sitting correct in the mix. All we hear is the snare basically. This is more of a balance issue. Still more work to do. Step back and think about what is wrong with the picture. Try to hear it as if it is not your work. That will help

Hey Klaus, the drums need more body, for me the snare and the guitars are loud, and the hats a bit edgy, nice! ;P

Hey @Klaus Ferretti , What are you using as your listening environment? Check out the frequency spectrum of your mix. There's very little in the 80 and below, while there's a bunch of high mids. Do you use references to reset your ears?

Thanks and alright - in this case I blew up the mix. Sure, something did not work well. I do not know wether my ears was tired or my room or the speaker is a reason. But thanks for your comments and that you have a listen to my mix. I will look ahead and try a next mix challenge to make some changes. See you and happy mixing. Klaus F.
