Hi George, nice mix! I'll suggest these changes could improve the overall mix.
1.The guitar seems to have too much DIs sound which makes it more like a pop song. 2.The vocal level can be increase by a touch. 3.Nice drums! I am sensitive to high frequency so I would use the de-esser or Multiband comp to tame the high fq of the hihats and cymbals. 4.This might be personal preferences but I would pan the backing vocals hard L-R and reduce the amount of the delays.
Overall this is a great mix! I can feel the depth you trying to create. Nice! Thank you.
I'm new in this mixing critique community, I think your mix sounds great and balanced, but in places your kick drum is sounding masked possibly by the bass guitar or another frequency causing it to cancel out a little. What you might try is boosting the lower frequency of the kick drum around the 40-60Hz area, and at the same time, make a cut around the 100-150hz area for the Bass guitar... Then do the same with the bass, cut the bass under say 40-70hz a little and boost in the 80 to 150hz area... Give that a try and see if the two can live together a little more harmoniously, otherwise I think it's a great start to you mix :-)
Supwait and APCMSE! This is perfect remarks! Thank you!
Yesterday when I listening my mix, I think that perfect mix. Now, listening your mix, I hear many mistakes. And your remarks help me understand what sounds bad.
Hey George, nice mix! I agree with Supawit on taming the top end and I add the electric guitars as well, I'd reduce the reverb on the lead vocals and backing ;P
