Hey everyone, this is my first time participating in a practice mix.

Some thoughts on my mix process:
- started with gain staging
- HP, LP on all tracks
- moderate EQ, as required
- aux sends for a short reverb (medium plate, -14dB) and long reverb (-24dB)
- sidechain compression from LV to Rhodes and Guitars, to duck them a bit when the vocals come in. Also brings the Rhodes up a bit at the start of the song
- guitar solo verse 2: panned rhythm L/R, reduced the width of the solo guitar, and added a slow pan LFO
- LV: added a bit of saturation and harmonics (SPL TwinTube)

I tried to keep the mix pretty clean. Let me know what you think!

Hey Melissa, welcome to the Mixdown Training Room! The mix sounds good for me! I'd lower just a touch the vocals to make them blend better into the mix ;p

Hi Melissa, sounds very good for me. I don’t really like the modulation effect of the solo guitar all the time, I might just put it on at certain times but it’s just a personal opinion. You did a good job

Hey @Melissa Goudeseune , Welcome to the MDTR! Great first submission. I like what you did with the guitar solo. To me, the drums, bass and Rhodes all seem to be sitting in the same vertical position in the mix. You could brighten the cymbals to pull them up in the speakers, carve our some lows in the Rhodes to let it rise above the Bass.
