Here is my mix of "Open up your eyes". I was looking to get an open "airy" mix. I also waned the lead vocal to feel like the person was sing to you in person. So I tried to bring the lead vocal up in the mix as far as I could without causing an unnatural separation with the instruments, I hope. Most of the tracks were Eq and compressed using the waves SSL EV 2 channel strip. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T076yNbH8k4AOIqhxlUQJ4yeaSkj-Ba-/view?usp=sharing

Hi Curtis, nice mix. I like how you treated the voices. For me the synth is too present especially in the verses. The snare in the chorus would be better a little brighter. Good job

Hey Curtis, good work on this one! How's that new SSL strip anyway, I'll admit I am intrigued by it but then again, how many SSL E emulations and offshoots do I need. I'm hearing a bit of boxiness on the snare drum in the chorus, I think the problem range on this snare was in the 400-500 area so if you cut in the usual area of 200-300 you may have missed it. Rest of the track sounds good!

Hey Curtis, nice mix! It's a bit on the dark side for my ears (drum sections and lead vocals, especially on the verses), personally I'd shape a different sound for the snare on the verses.. ;p

Hey Ben! This was my first project with the strip and it’s not bad at all. The compression really adds a lot of punch and thickness to the instrument. It also warms it too. Magghy commented about the darkness of the project, I might need to keep that in mind when I’m using it. I used the strip on ever instrument except for the vocals. It a lot Better than the older waves SSL strip. How ever it’s a CPU hog. By the end of the project my CPU was running at 75%.I have never been close to this unless I have a ton of midi tracks running on a big project.

Curtis, I think the drums need some highs. They just sound distant. Just a little more click on the kick and maybe some 6k-7k range and some 10k on the snare? I like your vocals and everything else sounds smooth to me. Good Job
