Hello fellow mixers! Here is my take on Dino On The Loose - “Queen’s Light”

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C40wqtg_BYlG4oCDnwNyU6mJ9_E0bIHZ/view?usp=sharing

This one was a lot of fun to work on - I head bopped along the entire time :) Biggest challenge for me this week was getting it up to volume - ended up spending a couple of sessions on that alone, which was cool because it got me trying some different approaches and digging deeper into some existing tools. Thanks for listening!

oh wow I love your choice of ambiances
the reverb on that hammond -- mm tasty
to the super washy one on the Nintendo theme -- how crazy was that?
the phasing (?) on the Rhodes chords was a very nice touch
but maybe the hammond stabs during the solos are a bit too high?
&
am I the only one who was not a big fan of the glassy / ring mod-dy doubling of the synth solo? I kept mine rather hidden
anyways, I like you futuristic, sci-fi take on the track

peace

Hi Jason,
I can hear your fun mixing this song. I like it, cool mix. Like Robin I'm a big fan of your Hammnd reverb setting, superb.

also, may I ask -- what are the tools that you dug deeper into? and what approaches did you try?

Hi Jason, Yeah very cool approach and fun mix! Just my taste maybe but two points: the effects are cool, but sometimes would benefit from a bit shorter decay, sometimes a bit washy for me; and I feel the mix is a bit muffled ;), I miss some upper mids and air on some instruments at least.

Nice one, modulation/fx are a great touch! Just sometimes i feel it takes the jam feeling a bit away that i felt when mixing it but these different approaches are what makes it interesting! I felt it might be a bit low-mid heavy but that could also be my current situation (maybe mine is just thin:D ) at least to some of the higher content.
Great work though!
