Hello everyone!
Here’s my version of CryonicPAX – Melancholy
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1710bh-K24KAvPq2Tj1Jj_hXmli3-JSR9/view?usp=sharing

I liked very much this song, the arrangement and the selection of sounds so my main focus was to highlight this kind of spiritual atmosphere offering some ear candies here and there, with the gong, the percussion/congas, shaker and the hi piano.. then I added reverbs/delays and other effects to glue everything together and give a sense of wider space ;P

yes your mix has a sense of weird yet calm atmosphere. Unique, I would call it hehehe ;D
Especially what you did with the piano, you made it sound very good. I like the reverb it has and vibe it offers.

Maybe one thing (and that is because im being very picky haha) there is this slight annoying body thump on the kick which I got rid of because it was giving me headaches.
I think your mix could benefit of that as well :)

thanks maggy this song was very fun

Hey Magghy!

The piano took me by surprise, but I quite liked your treatment, especially as it created more differentiation between it and the Bells.
For my taste, the kick could punch through more... maybe experiment with using side-chain compression on other instruments (eg. the bass) with the kick as the Sidechain input, or use some compression with medium-fast attack, quick release, to help it punch through.

There are a lot of bassy elements here, so that's obviously a big challenge to sort through what you want to have energy where. Maybe reducing some bass energy from the Conga (or even bass), could make some more space for that kick :)

Thank you guys! Yep I used a bit of sidechain, but I can try with different settings on the compressor ;P
