Hi everyone,
here's my version of Kat Wright - "Contact".

https://drive.google.com/file/d/11ZexmezTJos0_MiTx_RVt-1TmO6tByn8/view?usp=sharing

I didn't edit or gate the drum bleed in the vocals, since I felt it impacted on the "live" feel of the song.

Cheers!

Hey Totonno! Nice mix! I liked the vocals (nice reverb on them, perhaps?), though they might be a bit too bright and clash with the cymbals and hats in some parts. I also feel the bass is a bit lost. For this one I added some distortion to the bass so it gets more mids, but perhaps just adding a bit of volume and eqing some tracks a bit to avoid clashes with the other instruments (mainly guitar, keys on the low-mids and kick on the lows). Just my modest opinion, I'm still pretty n00b at this :)

Hi Infaust! Thank you so much for your feedback! The bass guitar actually had nothing above 1k so I distorted it in parallel very similarly to what you did, but probably not enough :D It's actually very defined in your mix, I like it a lot. About the other frequency clashing you described I'll look deeper into that. Thank you for listening and taking time to write, appreciate it!

Hi Totonno, nice mix. It might be a bit bass heavy. Guitars are nice and clear but horns are missing some highs. I like how you got to drums to sound nice!

Hi Anne Schutte, I agree, comparing it with other mixes horns need a little bit of high end. I think the bottom part of the whole mix is heavy cos I couldn't get the bass to stand out, i should play a little bit more with the bass parallel distortion to make it sound clear without being overbearing. Thank you very much for your feedback!

Hey Totonno, as Anne said, I think the bass could be lowered to make the song more bright and I think your vocals needs a bit of air, the mix is on the "dark" side, for my ears, good mix! ;p
