Okay so the thing I say is that I wish my vocals could have been 2 or 3 db higher but it was impossible because of the hats and CRASH bleeding into them!! D: anyone found a solution to that?????
good mix! but what happened to the vocal? why such a huge reverb? if your idea was to make a performance in a large concert hall, then they failed. you forgot that other musicians are playing in this big hall. now it sounds strange: the voice is in the big hall and the rest of the musicians are playing in the small room. try replacing the reverb on your voice, use a medium sized room, set the predelay to around 70ms and don't forget to equalize it so that the reverb isn't so obvious
hi!! ok on the contrary to others mixes that I found very dry (which was probably what the artist looked for as it was a nice cozy acoustic tiny desk), i wanted to make mine modern instead of old and boring by making it obvious and very dense, like in many modern pop productions like, I wanted to bring that modern pop sound to this old boring jazz xD (totally contrary to real, to make it sound synthetic and full, you know what I mean) its just a matter of speech but yeah ok I will check reverb thankssssssss :) :) :)
Hey Adrián, nice mix! Yep, the vocal has a reverb that is too long and big for this arrangement, the kick and the toms could be controlled better (maybe just turned down a touch) ;P
I liked the atmosphere, the vocals and harmonic arrangements sound lush-y, however, the kick drum is a bit too in-the-face (that was my sin as well :P) but it feels kinda like a rock-metal kick. as if the kick drum patch was fully tightened-up
