Loved mixing this track!
Given that this track is instrumental I put more style into the guitars this time.

For the crunch guitars I changed the tone quite a lot to make them more interesting in the mix. I tried giving them a slightly psychedelic vibe.

The heavy guitars I wanted to slam hard, together with the bass.
Tip here: Compressing the band between 100Hz and 300Hz makes the palm mutes of the guitars tight!

Apart from that, had a hard time with the drum set. Couldn't really find a tone for the snare and the overheads that made me 100% happy. Still though, I'm fairly happy with my result.

Looking forward to your valuable feedback! :)

Best,
Luke

whoa hey Luke -- I love those massive palm mutes!
I think the clean guitar gets in the way of the sax during the dreamy section and maybe the kick trigger misfires a few times
psychedelic vibe achieved, while retaining a very menacing feel -- that's good stuff right there
cheers!

Nicely done, Luke! The guitar sounds are fantastic! The kick sound is spectacular.

Did you flip the polarity on the snare tracks? Did you time-align them? For me, they were ~180 samples in front of the overheads. AND the overheads were out of alignment with each other.

Tonally, it's a little edgey. maybe dial back the 2.5k-4k in the master bus.

Well done!

Hey Jay,
thanks again for the review! No, I did not flip the polarity or time-align any drums. Thanks for the tip though, I'll definitely check next time whether that's necessary.
