๐ Revision Day โ๏ธ ( OPTIONAL ) -------------------------- ๐ Hi guys! Here we can repost the mix of the previous week and see if it sounds better compared to the older one (made before others feedback)
๐ถ The song was: H-owl Project - โIf I Were A Bellโ๐ถ - Post the link of both: the old mix and the new one, in the comment section below! โฌ๏ธ -
Nothing drastic anywhere, but based on feedback: - Frequency rebalance, more lows, less low mids - More aggressive high passing on reverb - it was originally high passed I have also reduced the level of the overheads as these seemed to be overbearing on review. I have not reduced the level of reverb as it is where I want it and am happy with it, but hopefully the high pass change will make this more acceptable to those who are less reverb-centric than me!! :)
@will Carballeira are you able to post the revised in the same way as the original? The original plays, but the revised requires login to Dropbox, which I do not have.
Here is my revised mix of the weeks song If I Were a Bell I took off the parallel compression as that was a experiment as it was the first time that I tried it and I got rid of the reverb so hopefully it sounds better let me know what you guys think here is the new version
Hey Maurice, good job! The revised version sounds smoother and more balanced, I like it! Even if the piano is a touch loud compared to the other instruments.. The reverb is still too present for me but it's a matter of taste ;P
Hey Will, nice one! The drum kit is a bit low in volume and the piano a bit too dynamic ;P
Hey Kike, nice job! I know the piano is the lead instrument here, but it's a bit loud compared to the rest of the song ;P
Hey Keith nice mix, less reverb, I like it! The top end of the drum kit though, is still a bit loud and edgy ;P
2 props
