It was an interesting song to work with.. I liked the overall arrangement and atmosphere created.. I listened to the suggested references and Alexandra’s rough but I decided to mix emotionally mainly, trying to not underestimate the technical aspects as well, as much as I could ;P
I find the vocal a little bit too sibilant. Nice use of the octave track at the end of the first chorus. I think the bass guitar could come up in the mix. The cymbals (or at least the hi-hat) sounds very slightly too bright/harsh to me. I personally would like to hear more use of the orchestral tracks for the ending, but that is a subjective thing. It can be hard to know if the artist's vision was to emphasize more the orchestral or the rock elements for something like this.
Really nice mix, Magghy - I agree that the bass could come up. The snare seems distant for my taste- maybe too much verb or not enough brightness? But overall very nice balance/mix.
Hey, Magghy. I liked how you made the song grow with each section. If I could sugest something, I think there's too much effects on the vocal and it is also a bit too harsh.
Hey, Megghy! Very interesting effects on the vocals. I personally wouldn't use it to that extent (maybe just to make some accents in several places), but it gives kinda alien feel to it which works for the whole song idea. Overall balance seems nice, but I would definitely add more volume to the orchestral parts. Thanks again for posting my song and taking the time to work on it!🖤
I really like the placement of the drums. The kick sounds smooth.
