Break each section down... Start with the most dominent sound, Ie if you hear pad the loudest focus on that an then what do you hear next? lead get that right, then bass etc
Try listening for a bit, get your ear used to the levels, pick out the loudest component(s), and then try throwing the faders as quickly as possible. I found the more I sat and tried to think about each level as I did it, the more wrong I'd usually end up being haha. Make sure your ears have a good idea of what's going on, then try to make your moves without thinking too much about it, and if its wrong, hopefully your ears will pick up that something isn't right. Hope that helps
99.5 percentile here, finally world needs me ahah :)) First I roughly map the tracks from the loudest to the quietest then I listen to portions of tracks where louder sounds cover the quieter ones almost completely to use these in order to put quieter sounds' faders precisely. Pad is the best one to set first because it determines how you feel the other sounds' loudness. But if the bass is really loud then its pad and the bass. Also, the longer you listen to the track the easier it is to set faders, something will just feel not right if it is not, try listening for a whole minute for example at first, then decrease your listening time by a couple of seconds each level
@Jay Jemmings No connections, Its actual just my iPad running Yamaha StageMix app in demo mode. I'm just using it as a way to represent what I'm hearing in the game as a rough starting point for setting up my answer. At first, I was scribbling notes on paper, but I quickly found this more intuitive 😉
