Does anyone else think of the notes when you play Feedback Eliminator? Like if something is an octave or a fifth lower/higher than the last question, it can help me figure out the answer. It isn't failproof, because I don't have perfect pitch or anything, but sometimes it works when I can figure out the interval jump from question to question.

I understand your query and some people may anchor to that. The issue is that notes are designed to be heard, whereas frequency reaches a broader spectrum of listening. Frequency is the foundation of detection across all instruments and identifying what is heard. So, by taking your approach, you’re actually limiting yourself. Focus on the frequeny only and you’ll be able to pick up more than you ever anticipated with music.

I can sometimes recognize octaves; that helps a lot (e.g. when 500hz comes after 1000hz and then jumps to 250, it's a clean hattrick :D )

I'll keep that in mind since I'm okay at recognizing simple intervals like fourths, fifths, and octaves. 1kHz is seared into my brain as the *bleep* when people used to curse on TV.
