It would be great if in the sound selection icons in the games there was an import track option so you could practice on your own or familiar mixes. not sure how possible that is to code into the site though.
use your own computer for your lil charades π servers cost space, logistics, and money π΅ unless you're ready to cough up more money to accomodate your fantasies and, to enjoy these perks π i'd suggest use your DAW for these experiments.
wow.. thanks for your response.. sorry I triggered u with a brain fart... I even mentioned I dont know how possible it is in a coding sense.. would be happy to pay for a feature like that.. Sorry to anger you..π
I'm a software developer with 12 years of professional experience building this kind of thing, and I don't get what LMQ is being so dismissive about. It would obviously have to be a cost/benefit analysis as with any new feature. It doesn't even necessarily need to go into a higher price if the upside is high enough in terms of making the site more compelling.
Assuming the site does processing via a script util or similar it is perfectly reasonable to import and process the audio client-side. If that's the case it is neither difficult nor expensive to implement. If processing is done server-side it could be reasonable to consider a small extra fee for bandwidth costs, but we're still talking peanuts. servers cost space, logistics and money is not a relevant comment, and does not relate to this feature implementation unless everything is pre-rendered server-side, which would be very cost-ineffective on the developers part (and honestly more difficult to implement to begin with).
Yup, like @Alexander Hyll said, web full-stack engineer here, too. I'm not sure how we triggered this LMQ guy but it isn't necessarily bad from a cost perspective, entirely depends on the implementation. And even if it is, it can be limited, put under a credit system, etc. A lot of sites process user-uploaded music even for free accounts and they're doing just fine.
Though this whole servers cost space, logistics and money makes me feel like he doesn't really know what he's talking about in the first place (the site appears to be hosted on AWS so space is totally meaningless for example), so don't take it personally. Trolls are everywhere unfortunately.
If you work in an executive post you should be more considerate to your community, and your professionalism needs a lot of work. You might want to look into getting a mentor.
go sit outside and wait, until you're told to come back later π
oh what a vicious cycle π₯Έ
