How can my Stats tell me that I'm doing "better than 80.3% of users," but I have an SPI score of only 30,503?

Same thing. I got 29,441 and its better than 80.1(!)% of users.

I think there are many people who just started soundgym, but forgot about it later, or they didn't like that kind of gym and accounts still exist.

I guess it'll be a steep, steep climb past "Bronze Ears." I noticed you past me up substantially since you commented. There must be something I am doing wrong.

because 80.3% of users have SPI score less than 30.503 ;)

Oh, it was a Daily Training. If you are clearing another level in each 5 games, you get more SPI. That's how it works.

Daily Training will certainly help your brain better decipher what you are hearing, even if you aren't leveling up. However, if it's SPI that you are after, find the couple of games you are best at, and then play the crap out of them. Your SPI point base will increase everytime you level up, and each time you get a top 3 personal best. You will collect SPI at a high rate quickly.

I guess it's not just the SPI I care about. I do find value in these exercises and notice an improvement. I just worried that maybe I was a "lost cause" from an audio point of view. I do have some ear damage. My right ear pops when I hear spiky high frequencies, like every time I get a correct answer in PanGirl. I also have tinnitus. I was just worrying that my lack of progress was due to physical damage that could translate into something much worse. Like being forced to "Throw in the towel."

I think the "ears" is a better way of evaluating how you are progressing (Iron, silver, golden, diamond, etc.)

Okay, I see John. Some will be more difficult than others (years on stage next to large speakers have taken their toll on ears, for sure), but keep at it and you'll be fine!

Definitely don't worry about the "better than xxx%" though. Like the real gym, many stop working out after a few days, but they still count as members/users. One sit up a week will make you better than most when most have stopped coming 😂
