listen to the punch in the snare drums for the normal drums, and the kick drum for the shaker one. (at least works for me) the uncompressed one sounds more punchy, poky and aggressive, while the compressed one is not that harsh to your ears upon attack. just pay attention to that and you're good to go.
I think there's a few ways you may be able to do it, I would often listen to the room sounds/tail ends of snares or other loud kit pieces (more room sounds/tails = more compressed), sometimes you can notice the louder sounds getting quieter. Often the initial transient hit would be the loudest thing, so those might get turned down with compression. In real world scenarios, compression can have slower attack times and that way sort of emphasize the transient, but I think in this game it's more of a constant effect
