I had older version of the DT 770 and they were great until I learned that they were cutting out on certain frequencies, mainly due to age. Do your workouts daily.. bought some DT 990 and audio techinica 50x(?). Helps to know closed vs open and what your system can handle or if you need a boost. I love love the DT990. they are open and good for mixing, not good for tracking with live mics.. What Bahram said, get to know what you are using and for what purpose. tune to something you know.

Closed back. I like Audio Technica. They have models that range in price. The ATH-M40 is about $100.00 USD.

So, I would tell you to buy Sonarworks ID and then the headphones of your choice from their list

@Tobias Lütge I have both : the DT 990 pro (120 EUROS) and the DT 1990 pro (500 euros and similar range to HD 650) and I prefer the DT 990 pro.... he is perfect because it is very light on the head. I love the Harman curve. In all case the headphone are not very important.. You ears are important,
I have seen impressive results with any material, the important thing happens in the head..

@Tobias Lütge I said that in the sense, if you know your material you can work around its faults, it takes time to get used to headphones, after all depends on your tastes in terms of response curve

That kinda depends. If you’re looking for good headphones to reference or assist while mixing/mastering then open back headphones for example the mentioned beyerdynamics 990 pro are great. I use them as well. If you want isolation for recording then closed back ´headphones for example the DT770 Pro are a good option. Hope this helps. Cheers!
