For beginners :
was not confident at the beginning of the exercices, less than 2 months ago, I am now (not new to audio).
The million SPI users, I though that you had to have Bionic ears to become one of them. No ! It is possible to improve fast if you are serious. Half an hour a day, sometimes more will be enough to improve your skils. After 43 training sessions (+ some contest and free exercices), crossed the line of the 500k SPI. Happy.
Happy just because it has a real effect on you ability to Eq, and generally to make decisions during a mixing session. I mix slightly faster now.
My only issue is the PANMAN stuff, don't know if my system (that is tuned well) is the problem, but I must admit that I suck at it. Think I am pretty good at comp and reverb exercices by the way.

It is definitely possible for almost everyone. Sure for someone that is new or not as long into music production this could take longer but it is doable for pretty much everyone with a normal hearing. Its like with most of other stuff... The more you do it, the better you will become. 10k hours and stuff :D Congrats to 500k SPI David. Cheers!

Yes, I agree! I'm not a professional at all, and just created my account a little less than a month ago, and even with a free account I do find that the EQ game really helps in training the ear to hear different frequencies. I'm not good by any means, far from it, but I'm pleased with any progress I've made! I don't mix/master music or do music professionally, but I believe that if nothing else, it's part of improving overall musicality and hearing ability, and is useful in general if you're interested in music.

Hey! I'm old, can't hear above13k, and I'm an amateur and got there. Like anything else, if you spend time and effort, you can achieve things. Or at the least improve. PanGirl will definitively put to the test your speaker setup, which IMHO works better than cans. Cheer!

I sucked at all the games when I started out half a year ago!
The clear competition/challenge set by the spi system was a great driving force behind my daily training ( I admit, I love the rewards of a level up), but as with all things, its important not to think about an end or goal too much but to enjoy the process - don't let the comparison with others stand in your way :) 30+ min a day gave my production, mixing and most importantly my confidence in my ears an incredible boost.

It's just a number Steph...music is music...if you're making bangers...nobody cares what the age of the person was that made it....or produced it...or mixed it...or mastered it....do you!

Man this is encouraging to hear. I'm like a week in w/ 7 workouts so far and like 3500 SPI. Getting to even the silver tier of 40k feels so out of reach to me right now. I can't even fathom 500k, or 1m or 2m and already feel like the differences towards the later stages are so subtle! Newish to proper mixing/production, not new to music/composition :). I'm concerned about just hitting a plateau in progress soon....
